Washington Demons are celebrating homecoming this week. The schools have dress up days each day this week, coronation will be held, and the annual football game will be Friday night. Activities Director Brent VanWeelden shares what Spirit Night will include, “We always have Spirit Night on the Thursday before the homecoming game, so that’s not a change. The big change this year will be that it’s at Case Field. One of the things that we want to do is social distance. So, we’re going to have it at Case Field and it’ll be the same program basically that we’ve had in our auditorium the last few years. All the fall coaches and teams will be there: football, cross country, and volleyball. The cheerleaders will be cheering just like normal. The band will be there playing. The dance team will dance.”
The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at Spirit Night. This year’s queen candidates include Brynn Beennblossom, Kellie Dallmeyer, Trina Griffin, Hannah Rees, and Josie Tanner. King candidates are Kael Adam, Roy Carter, Cooper Reed, Wyatt Stout, and Trashaun Willis. You can hear that announcement live on KCII Thursday evening. There will not be a parade this year due to COVID-19 and social distancing needs.
Also, tune in Friday night to hear live play-by-play coverage on KCII on FM 106.1, online at KCIIRadio.com, and on the free KCII mobile app as the Demon football team takes on Fairfield.
