Mid-Prairie senior Karsen Jehle has been selected to be part of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Jehle will join 10 other student-athletes from across the state in order to act as a voice for Iowa’s female student-athletes and provide feedback for issues dealing with sportsmanship, safety, student leadership, and participation. Jehle, a member of the volleyball and softball teams at Mid-Prairie, has ideas she wants to present to the committee this year, “I think we, as a school, we were going to have a girls wrestling team, but we must not have had enough girls, so maybe pushing more for that. Overall, I think I’ll just be using my voice, providing input along with the 10 other girls.” Jehle plans to attend Kirkwood Community College next year to complete her general education courses, and then complete an online program to get her Bachelors in business administration.
