The Mid-Prairie School District has reported a significant drop in their number of absent students due to coming in contact with a positive COVID-19 case. The school district had 149 students absent from classes on September 11. According to Friday’s data, 49 students were absent due to being in quarantine caused by contact tracing, and no cases of COVID-19 were reported among students or staff. The school board will meet Monday night to discuss the current mask mandate in classrooms and vote to extend it or eliminate it. Members of the public are invited to the high school gymnasium to express their thoughts on this agenda item. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
