The WACO Ministerial Association is asking for donations to help individuals locally, nationally, and globally during their Community Responding to Overcome Poverty (CROP) drive. This fundraising effort was started 52-years-ago in Wayland and is sponsored by Church World Service, a global organization which donates collected funds and resources to help end poverty globally. This year, the WACO CROP goal is $30,750. Of that total, 75% will go to the most pressing needs in the U.S. and around the world, and 25% will be distributed within the WACO community for local needs. For example, the WACO School District’s backpack program in summer 2019 was partially funded due to donations from this CROP drive. Donations will be accepted until October 25. Cash donations can be sent to any of the churches in Wayland or the ministerial association. Commodity donations can be designated through either of the two grain elevators in Wayland.
