The Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association released their week five cross country poll with several area teams recognized.

Washington’s Lance Sobaski comes in at No. 27 in class 3A this week. Sobaski, a junior, has won three consecutive individual meet championships including on his home course this week in a time of 17:33.

The Mid-Prairie boys and girls teams both remain in the rankings this week. The Golden Hawk girls have moved down to No. 2 in class 2A from the top spot after being replaced by Williamsburg. The Mid-Prairie girls were team champions at Clear Creek Amana on Monday. The Golden Hawk girls have two ranked runners in their lineup with Syndey Yoder at No. 3 and Jaden Yoder No. 4. The Mid-Prairie boys check in at No. 5 in class 2A this week. They were team runners-up at Clear Creek on Monday. Three Mid-Prairie individuals are in the rankings for the boys with Thaddeus Shetler No. 10, Jamison Stutzman No. 15 and Chandler Hershberger No. 18.

The Columbus Wildcat boys are listed as one of the teams to watch in this week’s class 1A poll.
