The campus of Hillcrest Academy will be a busy place on Monday when the Raven cross country team hosts their annual home meet. A total of 16 teams will be in Kalona this evening. The Ravens were last in action at the Bud Williams Invitational at the Iowa City Kickers Complex on Thursday. The Raven girls had a team score of 235 led by Leah Bontrager in 26th. The Hillcrest boys top finish was Collin Miller in 61st individually.
The Washington Demons will be in Kalona tonight. Washington was last on the course Tuesday when they hosted their home meet. Lance Sobaski won his third consecutive race for the Demon boys, leading the Demons to a third place team finish. The Washington girls were second in the team standings with Hannah Rees taking fifth individually.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will be at Hillcrest tonight. The Hawks last ran at the Iowa City Kickers Complex Monday in the Clear Creek Classic where the girls took home the team championship led by Danielle Hostetler’s individual title while the boys were runners-up, paced by Jamison Stutzman as runner-up individually.
The Lone Tree Lions last ran at Winfield-Mt. Union Thursday. The Lions were 10th in the team standings, led by Nick Saltzman in 29th individually.
Sigourney last ran at the Washington meet a week ago where Mason Moore was individual runner-up. Those schools will be joined by English Valleys, Fairfield, HLV, Holy Trinity, Montezuma, Mount Pleasant, North Mahaska, Pella, Iowa City Regina, Solon and Williamsburg. Action begins at 4p.m. with junior high races and continues into the evening in Kalona.
