Each year in the City of Washington local Boy Scouts go door to door to collect food, however this year that event will look a bit different. The Boy Scouts of America Pack and Troop 242 are having a central drop off for their annual Scouting for Food Drive. The change is to help hold the event safely due to concerns of the COVID-19 virus.

Donations of canned food can be dropped off at Archer’s in Washington now through Saturday (10/11) during business hours. The other option to make a donation is to contact Kathy Fields at 319-461-3016 and a Troop Leader will come by and pick up a donation in front of your residence. Check the expiration dates on donated items, as things that are past their date cannot be accepted.
