Hillcrest Academy played host to the biggest cross country meet in the area Monday night. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls led the way for area schools. The Golden Hawk girls captured the team championship with their score of 27 points, beating second place Iowa City, City High with 58 points. Mid-Prairie did it on the strength of a 1-2-3 punch led by meet champion Danielle Hostetler with her time of 19:55. Jaden Yoder was second, Sydney Yoder third, Mitzi Evans seventh, Abby Fleming 14th, Ana Fleming 19th, and Annika Poll 29th.

The Washington Demon girls were seventh of nine teams with their score of 194. Washington was led by Hannah Rees in 32nd with her time of 23:13. Other runners for Washington included Abby Kleese 37th, Taylor Bartholomew 41st, Cloe Telleen 43rd, Josie Tanner 45th, Molly Klinzman 46th, and Ada Kendall 50th.

Hillcrest Academy was ninth in the team standings with 242 points. The Ravens were led by junior Leah Bontrager in 26th with a time of 22:30. Other runners for Hillcrest included Julia Boller 54th, Kennedy Roth 57th, Taryn Leichty 62nd and Hannah Chalupa 66th.

On the boys side, Mid-Prairie was fourth of nine in the team standings with 93 points. The Golden Hawks were led by Jamison Stutzman in third with a time of 17:24. Other runners for the Golden Hawks included Nathan Wallington 15th, Lucas Bontrager 18th, Chandler Hershberger 27th, Mose Yoder 35th, and Daniel Rodgers 47th.

Washington was sixth of nine teams with a score of 161. The Demons were led by Lance Sobaski in 12th with a time of 18:01. Other runners for the Demons included Micah Rees 30th, Cameron Vongpanya 41st, Peyton Snakenberg 43rd, Drew Horak 44th, Elijah Morris 50th, and William Kennedy 59th.

Lone Tree was ninth with 248 points. The Lions were led by Nick Saltzman in 38th with a time of 20:06. Other runners for the Lions included Alberto Cortez 51st, Cal Christofferson 53rd, William Rockafellow 61st, and Joey Birtcher 64th.

Sigourney did not post a team score. The Savages were led by Mason Moore in 29th with a time of 19:07.

Hillcrest Academy did not post a team score. The Ravens were led by Collin Miller in 45th with a time of 20:42. Other runners for the Ravens included Jorge Canchola 52nd, and Will Kolck 57th.

Keota did not post a team score. The Eagles were led by Ryan Lawson in 66th place with a time of 26:26. Noah Fisher was 68th.
