The Sigourney volleyball team has had a busy start to the week and the Savages split a pair of matches.
On Monday the Savages made a trip to Montezuma and they were swept 25-17, 25-19, and 25-12. Kaylee Weber and Joselyn Abell led the offense in the defeat with four kills apiece, Brookelynn Hemsley dished out six assists, and Madelynn Hornback recorded 10 digs.
Sigourney bounced back last night and took down Iowa Valley in a makeup game with a sweep of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-23. Abell broke out for 11 kills and Weber managed 10. Hemsley had a team-high 16 assists, Hornback finished with 12 digs, and the team was successful on 89% of their serves.
The Savages now sit at 6-11 overall and 4-3 in the South Iowa Cedar League. They gear up for another conference matchup tomorrow at Belle Plaine.
