A memorial bench will be erected in the spring to remember the life and legacy of the late Mike Brinning. The family of Mike Brinning has received funds to create this bench near the Crooked Creek Bridge and will work with Washington County Conservation on this project. Brinning was an avid runner. He was a participant in the Kewash Half Marathon this year, but passed away due to a sudden illness. Conservation Director Zach Rozmus says the funds collected by the Brinning family will become a private donation to the conservation department for the project. The family is working with a private contractor on the creation of the granite rock bench. When phase two improvements of the Kewash Trail begin, this bench will be installed. Memorial donations in his memory have been established for Faith Baptist Church and for Kewash Trail improvements.
