It took all five sets on Thursday, but the Highland Huskies outlasted the Hillcrest Academy Ravens on the volleyball court in Riverside. Highland took the match by scores of 25-18, 14-25, 24-26, 25-19 and 15-10. The Huskies were led in the win by Kayla Cerny with 13 kills, Dani Laughlin with 29 assists and Sarah Burton with 16 digs. Hillcrest was led in the match by Esther Hughes with 13 kills, Yani Gutierrez with 11 assists and Eveyln Gerber with 33 digs. The win was the first in the Superconference for the Huskies who now stand at 1-4 in league play and at 5-16 overall. The Ravens remain winless in the Superconference and have an overall record of 3-19.
