The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team continues their busy stretch of the schedule tonight when they host the Tipton Tigers. This match was originally supposed to be played on October 1st but was postponed due to COVID concerns. Mid-Prairie enters play with a 6-15 overall record, and a 1-6 mark in the River Valley Conference, after falling in a sweep to rival Iowa City Regina on Monday. For the year, the Hawks are led by Phelan Hostetler with 48 kills. Landry Pacha has 181 assists, sixth most in the River Valley. Paige Peiffer leads the Golden Hawk defense with 121 digs.

Tipton stands at 3-18 on the year, the Tigers are 1-6 in RVC play. In their last match, Tipton was beaten by North Cedar in five sets Monday. For the season, the Tigers are led by Kelley Leiser with 107 kills, 10th most in the River Valley. Liz Bierman has 150 assists, seventh most in the RVC. Sydney Barton leads the Tiger defense with 123 digs. These two teams met once a season ago with the Tigers scoring a sweep. Tipton has won 18 of the last 20 matches between these two teams including nine in a row. Mid-Prairie’s last victory came in September of 2014.
