October has had a warmer than normal start in Washington, but things are expected to shift with below average temperatures in the forecast. According to the National Weather Service, in the first two weeks of October the average temperature has been 55.4 degrees, about 1.5 degrees above normal. The average maximum temperature has been observed at 70.3 degrees, nearly two degrees above normal.
The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities states that looking ahead to the middle of the month, below average temperatures and above average precipitation may be in store for eastern Iowa. Remember to have a jacket and umbrella on hand. In Washington, high temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s with overnight lows in the 30s moving into the weekend.
