
A Cedar Rapids man wanted on a Washington County warrant for drug charges was arrested in Albia. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 7:30 p.m. Friday 20-year-old AJ Phillip was arrested. He has been charged with distributing a drug near a school and possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $25,000. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
The charges are related to an incident that happened in Washington last month. According to Washington County Communications, at 8:11 p.m. on September 11th an officer was out with a vehicle at Hayes Timber. The vehicle was in the 100 block of North H Avenue, which is about a block away from an elementary school. Two officers from the Washington Police Department and two from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. At that time charges were pending on Phillip for possession of a controlled substance marijuana. Charges were also pending on a juvenile for possession of marijuana.
