This Saturday is the final day to request an absentee ballot be mailed in Iowa. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer is reminding voters that the deadline to submit an absentee ballot request form is 5 p.m. Saturday (10/24). The completed request forms can be taken to the auditor’s office and then a ballot will be mailed to the voter.
People can also vote early in person through 5 p.m. November 2nd. The auditor’s office is open during business hours during the week as well as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday and next Saturday, October 24th and 31st.
People can register to vote and vote all in one trip to the auditor’s office. Washington County has had over 5,200 absentee ballot requests – either by mail or voting early in person.
If a voter has a ballot at home still, they can fill it out and either mail it back in, drop it off in the secure box on the west side of the courthouse, or hand it in at the auditor’s office.
