A section of 130th Street east of Wellman will be closed starting Monday for a bridge replacement project. According to the Washington County Engineer’s Office, 130th Street will be closed approximately 500 feet west of Hemlock Avenue. Work is expected to take four to five months. Crews will be replacing the bridge over Smith Creek with a 100-foot by 30-foot pretensioned prestressed concrete beam bridge.

Iowa Bridge and Culvert of Washington was awarded the project with a bid of $526,549.01.
