October is National Book Month and the Wellman Scofield Public Library is ready to celebrate. While COVID-19 has changed how the library has been operating over the last nine months, Library Director Carol Wilkins shares the services that are still offered. “We are open by appointment. We are still trying to limit the number of people in the library. You are able to get in right away or same day. We’re still taking new library cards, so you can access our online resources. We have e-books and audio books which are online and you can access all of our resources through our web page. Help for school, learning a new language. We recently updated our library system so now we are completely online, in the cloud. People can put holds on books, renew their books, anywhere they can get an internet connection.”
Specific to National Book Month, Wilkins says she and her staff are celebrating books and reading. They are encouraging patrons to relax with a book, read aloud as a family and find new things to read.
