Washington County’s newly constructed emergency communications and emergency operation center is nearly complete. Carl A. Nelson and Company Project Manager Matt Miller said the project will be finished in the next couple of weeks. He says it has stayed on budget, “We’re going to end the project, it looks like with two-thirds of the contingency that we started with. So that’s a fantastic effort on everybody’s part.” The project had a $3.6 million budget.

The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved two change orders at their meeting this week. The first was for $5,300.96 for door hardware and locks, the second was for $14,853.44 for computer switches and electromagnetic locks.

In addition to the new building, the county has been working to upgrade the emergency communications equipment for about $7.7 million.
