Emergency crews responded to a house fire southeast of Riverside on Thursday. At 11:40 a.m. crews were called out to a fully engulfed house on Underwood Avenue near 150th Street and Highway 218.
As heard live from the scene on KCII, smoke could be seen from as far south as Ainsworth. Firefighters could be seen directing water at the second story of the white house. Firefighters from the Washington, Riverside, Ainsworth, Kalona, Lone Tree, and Hills fire departments assisted at the scene. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies assisted with traffic control. Washington County Ambulance and the State Fire Marshal also responded to the house fire.
No injuries were reported.
At 3:21 p.m. emergency officials were notified that the house was smoldering again. Riverside Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
