The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team cleaned up when it came to district awards announced this week. Mid-Prairie had 10 players receive Class 2A District seven recognition for their work on the field this year.

Five Golden Hawks received first team honors including senior running back Kayden Reinier. He finished seventh in all of 2A with 1,271 yards on 151 carries. His 17 touchdowns were third most in the state.

Junior Gannon Callahan was a first team selection along the offensive line. He was part of a group that helped pave the way for the Mid-Prairie offense which finished ninth in the state with 3,042 total yards this season.

Senior Vinnie Bowlin was a first team selection at utility. Bowlin was under center for the Golden Hawks this year. He went 56 of 126 in the passing game for 855 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions. On the ground he had 75 carries, 369 yards and three more touchdowns. Defensively, he was Mid-Prairie’s second leading tackler with 33 and a half stops.

Junior Justice Jones was a first team all-district pick at linebacker. Jones led Mid-Prairie with 69 tackles on the season, eighth most in 2A. That includes 42 solo stops and 10 and a half tackles for loss with an interception.

Senior Josh Wallington was a first-team selection on the defensive line. He had 28 and a half tackles on the season, 18 solo, eight tackles for loss and a sack and a half.

Three Golden Hawks were named to the second team. Junior Cael Garvey was a second team selection at defensive line. He ended the season with 21 and a half tackles, nine for loss.

Senior defensive end Ben Meader was a second team selection. He put together a season with 21 and a half tackles, five tackles for loss and two and a half sacks.

Senior wide receiver Clarke Latcham was a second team pick. He had 13 catches on the year for 248 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground he finished with five carries for 91 yards and another touchdown.

Mid-Prairie’s two honorable mention selections are seniors Nathan Quinby and Michael Kelly. Quinby had 16 and a half stops defensively with one interception. Kelly had 20 tackles on the year, 14 solo and nine tackles for loss. Mid-Prairie ended the season with a 4-4 overall record.
