A Tiffin man was killed in a bicycling accident over the weekend in Tiffin City Park. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old Steven Towne was operating a Shred Surface electric mountain bike on a trail near the Tiffin ball diamonds at 3:48 p.m. Sunday afternoon when he lost control and struck a bridge railing. Officials say Towne was not wearing a helmet. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.The Tiffin Fire Department and Johnson County Ambulance Service also responded and the Johnson County Medical Examiner Department assisted with the investigation on site.
