Saturday was the first live action of the season for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team as they rolled through Mediapolis in a Hall of Pride Scrimmage in Wellman 65-25. Mid-Prairie got out of the gates quick, holding a 30-10 lead at the half. The Golden Hawks put the game away and enacted the continuous clock in the third quarter with a 17-2 run that lasted the entire frame. Ethan Kos posted a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Alex Bean put up 14 for Mid-Prairie, including four three point goals. The Golden Hawks shot 45% as a team from the floor, only had five turnovers and pulled down 44 rebounds. Mid-Prairie will be back in action Monday when they host Pekin for a jamboree in Wellman.
