This fall, Mid-Prairie senior Aidan Rath announced his intention to play baseball at the collegiate level at Kirkwood Community College. Rath has had a decorated career to this point as a Golden Hawk posting a career batting average over .350 with 58RBI, 56 hits, 51 runs scored and 11 homers. His junior season saw him help lead Mid-Prairie to their first conference title since 2000, first state tournament since 2007 and bring home second team all-state honors in class 2A. He hit .562 with 27 total hits, 29 RBI, 22 runs scored and five homers in 2020. He spoke this week about choosing the Eagles. “Definitely appreciate the environment. I also saw how they move players on to the next level. They have a good record of developing players. Which I really liked. They said they liked my size and athletic ability. My speed. I’m probably going to play the outfield.”
Rath plans to study physical therapy while at Kirkwood.
