It took a while for things to get on track for the Hillcrest Academy boys basketball team in their season opener Tuesday, but in the end they took care of business against visiting Mediapolis 60-33. The Bulldogs controlled the action early, using methodical pace and Raven foul trouble to hold a 20-19 lead at the half. Out of the locker room it was all Ravens, they scored first after the break and parlayed that into a 22-5 run that lasted the entire third quarter to open a 42-25 advantage going to the fourth. In the final frame an 11-3 Raven run put the game out of reach. Eli Ours led the way for Hillcrest with 17 points. Noah Miller added 11 points and eight assists while Grant Bender and Aidan Krabill each scored 10. The Ravens stand at 1-0 and will next be in action Friday when they host Wapello.
