The public has a couple days left to share their thoughts on the Washington Police Department anonymously for their strategic plan.

The department has created a brief online survey available on their Facebook page for residents to share their impression of their department as it relates to their core values, and share how they think the department can improve their service. The results will then be incorporated into the department’s strategic plan to be used for the next three to five years. Police Chief Jim Lester says creating a strategic plan was one of his set expectations when interviewing for the position 18 months ago, “I believe it’s important to have community engagement and have the community involved in what the police department does and how we can improve service and meet the expectations of what the public expects from us, and I think this is a good way to get that input.”
