Two area wrestling squads made a trip to New London last night for a triangular meet. 

Columbus Community split a pair of duals by defeating Washington 57-15, but being edged by the host Tigers 38-36. The Wildcats took three of five contested matches from the Demons with wins from Ty Scorpil at 106 lbs by fall in 56 seconds, Triston Miller at 126 lbs by fall in 1:56, and Gerardo Orozco at 160 lbs by a 6-3 decision. In the dual against New London, Columbus was victorious in two of eight matches with Ty Scorpil having another pin in exactly 56 seconds and Will Hotz winning by fall at 170 lbs in 1:48.

In addition to falling to the Wildcats, the Demons were on the short end of a 42-22 score against New London. Jacob Miller won in the Columbus dual with a pin in 1:24 at 145 lbs and Ayden Frazer took care of business with a 7-1 decision victory at 170 lbs. Despite falling to the Tigers, Washington split six contested matches with Jack Kleese winning at 106 lbs by fall in 3:22, Chase Greiner at 170 lbs by fall in 2:33, and Frazer won again by a 12-3 major decision at 182 lbs. 

Columbus is now 2-1 in duals and they gear up for a tournament tomorrow at Tri-County. Washington is 2-10 and they host Keokuk on Thursday.
