The City of Riverside is making changes to some parking ordinances in an effort to alleviate travel for farm equipment through town.
City Administrator Christine Yancey says the parking changes have been in the works for a few months, “There are several things that are going to be changing. We changed some of our narrower streets to parking only on one side. We changed on Ella and Ash, which are our main farm-to-market roads in our community; there’s going to be no parking on either side just to allow the farm equipment to get up and down both of those roads, making it easier for equipment to get around.”
Yancey says input for the parking changes came after researching the issue with staff, the fire department, and those who reside near the affected streets. The third and final reading of the parking ordinance was approved and adopted by the City Council last week. “No Parking” signs will be posted as changes are implemented.
