It was a long time coming for the Lone Tree girls’ basketball team, but the Lions finally started their season on Thursday and routed Tri-County at home 49-17.
The Lions held the Trojans to less than six points each quarter and led 25-10 at the break before continuing to pile on in the second half. Tri-County shot just 20% from the floor and Lone Tree forced 30 turnovers. Senior Maddie Jacque knocked down five triples and finished with a game-high 22 points. Kasey Chown added some depth with 13 points.
The Lions start up the campaign 1-0.
