The Sigourney girls basketball team scored a victory over Lone Tree in a KCII area battle Monday night 46-33. It was a defensive grind early with Sigourney leading 6-4 after the first quarter and 14-11 at the half. Things opened up offensively in the second half with the Savages outscoring Lone Tree 18-12 in the third and holding off a late Lion charge 13-10 in the fourth for the win. Kaylee Weber did the heavy lifting for Sigourney with 30 points. The Savage defense forced the Lady Lions into 39 turnovers. Josie Mullinix led Lone Tree with 10 points. With the win, Sigourney is now 5-2 on the year while Lone Tree is 2-1.
