A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for noon today to last until noon Wednesday in Washington County.
The National Weather Service Quad Cities Office is predicting heavy snow and mixed precipitation, with total snow and sleet accumulations of 5 to 10 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, with peak snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour combined with southeast winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile in the heaviest bands of snow this afternoon and evening.
