Over the holiday break iawrestle.com released their first girls wrestling rankings of the season and a pair of Golden Hawks appear in the initial poll. Mid-Prairie sophomore Mia Garvey is ranked No. 6 at 138lbs. Garvey has a 5-1 record against female opponents on the season.

Golden Hawk senior Sarah Meader is ranked No. 5 at 152lbs.Meader is a perfect 9-0 on the season against female opponents, winning all matches but one by fall. She was recently crowned champion of her weight class at the Wilton Invitational before break. Meader finished sixth at the girls state meet last year. Meader, Garvey and the rest of the Golden Hawks open the second half of the season Saturday when they travel to North Scott for a tournament.
