Another COVID-19 death has been confirmed in Washington County, with three long-term care facilities currently experiencing outbreaks.
As of Monday morning the state dashboard shows Washington County having 30 deaths, with 2,065 positive cases and 1,625 recoveries. The dashboard also shows that in the last 14 days Parkview Manor in Wellman has had eight positive cases, Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Washington has had 26 cases, and United Presbyterian Home in Washington has had 18. Of its contiguous counties Washington has the second highest 14-day average positivity rate with 19.1%, compared to 13.5% a week ago. Jefferson County’s rate is 25.4%, and the only counties in the seven-county region that have seen a decrease in the past week is Louisa at 17.1% and Keokuk at 10.8%. Additional deaths were confirmed in the region, with Johnson at 49, Henry at 29, Louisa at 27, Keokuk at 25, Jefferson at 23, and Iowa at 22. Across the state there have been 320,547 positive cases with 4,138 deaths, and 256,148 recoveries.
