A second COVID-19 related death has occurred in the past week for Washington County, bringing the total to 31.
As of Wednesday morning Washington County has 2,101 positive cases with 1,667 recoveries. The state dashboard also shows outbreaks at three long-term care facilities, with 13 positive cases at Parkview Manor in Wellman, 32 cases at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Washington, and five cases at United Presbyterian Home in Washington all in the last 14 days. The county’s 14-day average positivity rate has decreased from 19.1% Monday to 17.1% Wednesday, as the highest positivity rate in the seven county region is Jefferson with 22.7% and the lowest is Keokuk with 9%. Henry and Louisa counties have also added another death since Monday, bringing their totals to 30 and 28 respectively.
