Wayland was the destination for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference girls’ basketball showdown on Monday and WACO had no answer against Burlington Notre Dame falling 70-27.

The Nikes rushed out to a 16-7 first quarter advantage and 33-11 at the break. A 24-9 third quarter was more than enough to pull away for the convincing win. Megan Harrell led Notre Dame with 17 points. The Warriors’ Ellah Kissell led the team with eight points and Morgan Graber added six.

Notre Dame improves to 10-1. WACO is now 4-9 and return to action Friday at Cardinal.
