The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams make the long road trip to Camanche Friday to battle the Indians. The Golden Hawk girls come into the night with an 8-7 record on the year after a 38-33 Senior Night win over Tipton Tuesday. In the victory against the Tigers, the Hawks were led by Maddie Nonnenmann with 13 points and Phelan Hostetler with 11. On the year, Mid-Prairie is paced by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per night. Amara Jones is averaging four assists and three steals per game.
Camanche is 3-12 on the season. The Indians were beaten Tuesday 52-33 by Cascade. For the year they are led by Aubrey Carstensen at eight points and six rebounds per game. These two teams met a year ago with the Golden Hawks winning 51-29 in Wellman.
The Mid-Prairie boys come into the matchup with an overall record of 8-3 after throttling Tipton 62-33 for Senior Night behind 14 points from Aidan Rath and 10 apiece from Carter Harmsen and Alex Bean. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Harmsen at 20 points per game, in the top 10 in class 2A. He and Ethan Kos are tied for the team lead at seven rebounds per game. Jack Pennington is averaging five assists per game to along with two steals.
Camanche is 10-3 on the year. They were 51-17 winners over Cascade on Tuesday led by 15 points from Jordan Lawrence. On the season, the Indians have Lawrence leading the way at 14 points per game. Zayne Feller is averaging eight rebounds per night and Zach Erwin has three assists per game. These two teams met twice a season ago with the Indians taking 87-42 and 70-33 victories.
