After dropping the first rivalry meeting back in January, the Highland girls’ basketball team returned the favor on Tuesday against Lone Tree when the Huskies came out with an emphatic 58-38 Southeast Iowa Super Conference victory in Riverside.

The middle two quarters were a Lion killer with a 7-6 Highland lead after one stretched to 23-15 at the break and 42-23 after three to set the stage for the 20-point win. Sophomore Dani Laughlin went off for the Huskies with a game-high 23 points. Abbi Stransky added 13 points and Jenna Sands was also in double figures with 12. 

Highland improves to 2-11 and 1-8 in league play while Lone Tree falls to 3-11, 2-6 in conference.
