The effort by Jefferson County Kids to build a new childcare center in Fairfield has received a financial boost.
The Jefferson County Kids Board of Directors launched the project almost a year ago with a goal to build a childcare center to add more childcare spaces and support the growing workforce in Fairfield. Agri-Industrial Plastics Company (AIP) of Fairfield has pledged a $100,000 donation to the project’s capital campaign, bringing them to about 90-percent of its $3.5 million goal.
In announcing their contribution, AIP Founder and Chairman of the Board Dick Smith says, “In our nearly 50 years of living in Fairfield, we have always appreciated how family-oriented the community is. The new childcare center will help to continue this emphasis, while also being an invaluable resource to parents.. We are proud to be part of it.”
Jefferson County Kids says they’re working to finalize design plans while aiming for the new childcare center to open in late 2021 on 3.5 acres directly west of the campus of Jefferson County Health Center which donated the land.
