An already powerhouse program, the Grand View University football team just got richer on Wednesday when Washington’s Trashaun Willis put pen to paper his intentions to hit the gridiron for the Vikings.

The 6’5’’ 230 pound senior will be a linebacker for a Viking team that has won 82% of their games in the last decade including a national championship in 2013. Willis tells KCII Sports he is excited to be a part of something special. “I can’t wait to get started. Going on my visit there they gave me their feelings about football. It is a win first mentality and team over everything. I can’t wait to be a part of another winning program with that drive for success.” Willis started at linebacker for the Demons each of the last three seasons including recording 59 tackles this past fall. He also doubled as the quarterback where he compiled 1,530 total yards with 25 touchdowns and was named captain of the Class 3A all state team. Grand View is a part of the Heart of America Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Willis plans to major in psychology in hopes to help others in the future.
