Lone Tree High School will host the next chapter of the Lion and Hillcrest Raven Superconference boys basketball rivalry tonight. Lone Tree comes into the game with an overall record of 1-14 and 1-9 in the Superconference after a tough overtime loss to rival Highland 56-55 Wednesday. On the season, junior Tyler Bell leads Lone Tree at eight points and nine rebounds per game. Alex Viner averages two assists and two steals per game.
Hillcrest Academy enters play with a 11-6 mark on the season, they are 9-5 in the Superconference, holding down third place in the North. The Ravens were a big winner over Highland on Tuesday 60-25. Ten Ravens scored in the game led by Eli Ours’ 21 points. On the season, Hillcrest is led by Ours at 17 points, four assists and two steals per game. John Hughes leads the Ravens on the boards with five rebounds per game. These two teams met earlier in Kalona with Hillcrest scoring a 65-31 win with Grant Bender scoring 18, John Hughes 16 and Eli Ours 15. Adam Knock and Tyler Bell each had 10 in the loss for Lone Tree. Action gets underway this afternoon with the varsity first at 5p.m. at Lone Tree High School.
