After a split doubleheader Saturday, the Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams will follow a similar formula tonight when the boys host West Liberty and the girls travel to Camanche. The Mid-Prairie boys come into the game with an overall record of 11-6 and are 11-4 in conference after beating these same Comets over the weekend 68-45 behind a 29 point, 12 rebound double double from Carter Harmsen and 17 points from Alex Bean. On the season, the Hawks are led by Harmsen at 20 points and seven rebounds per game. Jack Pennington has the team lead with five assists and two steals per game.

West Liberty is now 3-12 overall and 2-11 in the River Valley Conference after Saturday’s loss to Mid-Prairie where they were led by Chance Thrasher and Caleb Wulf each with 12 points. Wulf leads the Comets with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals per night. The Golden Hawks have won nine straight in the series.

The Golden Hawk girls are 9-10 overall and 8-9 in the River Valley Conference. They fell at Iowa City Regina Saturday 65-32 with Maddie Nonnenmann scoring 11 points. On the season, the Golden Hawks are led by Nonnenmann at 14 points and seven boards per game. Amara Jones leads Mid-Prairie with four assists and three steals a night.

Camanche is 3-14 on the season and 2-13 in the River Valley Conference. In their last game they were beaten by Bellevue Tuesday 58-28 with Bridgette Hundley scoring seven points. For the year Aubrey Carstensen and Maddie Michaels each put up seven points per game. Carstensen pulled down a team best six rebounds and has two steals per night. These two teams met last year with Mid-Prairie winning 51-29 in Wellman. The Indians have won six of the last seven in the series.
