A trip north to Gilbertville was the destination for the Sigourney-Keota wrestling team last night for a class 1A regional dual and the Cobras were edged by Beckman Catholic 40-28.
The Cobras gave up six points through a forfeit at 113 lbs and they won five out of 11 contested matches in the dual. Victorious Cobras included Reid Molyneux by fall in 3:36 at 132 lbs, Jacob Moore by fall in 1:04 at 138 lbs, Jack Clarahan by an 11-2 major at 160 lbs, Cade Molyneux by fall in 5:31 at 170 lbs, and Aidan Schuster by a pin in 1:33 at 182 lbs. Beckman turned around and fell to host Don Bosco in the finals and the Dons advanced to state duals. S-K qualified for regionals after placing first at their home sectional on Saturday with 181 points.
The Cobras close the dual season, but have six individuals that will compete in Pleasantville on Saturday for districts including Daniel McLaughlin, Jack Clarahan, Cade Molyneux, Reid Molyneux, Aidan Schuster, and Cade Streigle.
