The regular season comes to an end tonight for the Hillcrest Academy Raven boys basketball team when they host the Burlington Notre Dame Nikes at Hillcrest Union in the third place game of the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out. The annual event pits one team from the north division of the conference against a team from the south division based on their finish in the league standings. Hillcrest comes into the game with an overall record of 12-6, 10-5 in the Superconference north after a 57-30 senior night win over Winfield-Mt. Union on Tuesday. In the victory over the Wolves, Hillcrest was led by John Hughes with 23 points. For the season, Eli Ours paces the Ravens with 17 points, four assists and three steals per night. Hughes is best on the glass at five rebounds per game.
Burlington Notre Dame enters with an overall mark of 12-6, the Nikes finished 9-5, third place in the south division of the Superconference. They were last on the floor Tuesday when they beat WACO in Wayland 77-42. Notre Dame is led on the year by Josh Smith at 17 points and eight rebounds per game. Sam Brueck has a team best four assists and two steals per night.
