A Mount Pleasant man faces sexual assault and other charges following his arrest early Friday.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office informs they began their investigation after receiving a report of a sexual assault shortly before 1 a.m. that day. A search warrant was then executed at a home in the 700 block of North Bergdahl Court in Mount Pleasant at about 5:30 a.m., resulting in the arrest of 39-year-old Victor Alberto Elias Rodriquez.

Elias Rodriguez was charged with sexual abuse in the third degree and sexual exploitation of a minor, both class C felonies, and incest, a class D felony. He is being held in the Henry County jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department assisted with the investigation which is ongoing at this time. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
