The biggest weekend to date in the 2021 season is here for the Washington archery team, as they get set to compete in the Iowa National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) State Tournament tomorrow.

Usually located in Des Moines, the tournament will be broken up this year to avoid large crowds and the Demons will travel to Cardinal High School along with a few select teams including Mid-Prairie. Washington was last in action on February 19th when they placed second out of eight teams at a Center Point Urbana tournament. Ariel Mills and Lane Frana led the group with matching 284 scores and 18 bullseyes. Frana tells KCII Sports this year’s event will definitely feel different. “I am excited for it, but I wish it was in Des Moines like it normally is. There is a lot of shooters and a lot of chaos, but when you get ready to shoot everything is normal. It is always an amazing experience.”

The tournament begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow at Cardinal Community High School.
