Continuing to punish defenses is the goal for Highland’s Owen Donovan, as the senior football standout recently made it official his intentions to hit the gridiron in Oskaloosa for William Penn University.
The Statesmen finished 4-3 in a shortened 2020 season and are a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Donovan was a second team all-state selection in 2019 as a punt returner and this past fall was named Utility Most Valuable Player of Class A District 6. As a senior, the 5’10’’ 190 pound back racked up 1,021 rushing yards with nine touchdowns and added a pair of kick return scores.
Donovan was the anchor of a Huskie team that went 1-6 this past fall.
