The Washington Community School Board approved the purchase of new playground equipment for Lincoln Elementary during their most recent meeting.
Superintendent Willie Stone explained that they are purchasing the equipment before awarding a concrete bid for the project, in order to receive the equipment before late June or July. The total cost is $208,757 which includes the equipment, installation, and poured-in place rubber similar to what is installed at Stewart Elementary. Lincoln has raised nearly $100,000 for the project, and now that the purchase has been approved the playground equipment company Boland Recreation will provide exact design details to the engineer, who is in the process of designing the concrete base.
