A 20-foot, tow-behind camper was destroyed by fire two miles south of Crawfordsville Monday morning.
Crawfordsville Fire Chief Roy Felts says they were called to 3240 Vine Avenue shortly after 6:30 a.m. after the fire was initially spotted by an Iowa State Patrol trooper on nearby Highway 218. He says a male occupant and dog were able to evacuate safely from the camper which is a total loss. Felts says the fire was contained to the camper and the cause remains under investigation.
