Burlington Notre Dame High School was the gathering place for the area’s most talented basketball players Saturday as Father Minet Gymnasium played host to the 2021 Southeast Iowa Senior All-Star Game festivities. Each year the event features a boy/girl doubleheader with rosters made up of the area’s best, along with a dunk contest and three point contest.

In the girls event the Silver team topped the Gold team 68-58. Isabel Manning of Van Buren was the three point contest winner. Area athletes who competed in the girls game included Winfield-Mt. Union’s Farrah Nelson, Kyndal Townsley and Jenna Buffington.

The boys game took overtime to decide before the Gold team came away with a 105-104 win. The three point contest was won by Burlington’s Michael Alexander. The dunk contest winner was Marvion Jackson of Burlington, Notre Dame. Area athletes that competed in the boys contest included Winfield-Mt. Union’s Bryce Wade and WACO’s Will Edeker and Kolten Connelly, all for the Gold team. Winfield-Mt. Union head coach Klay Edwards served as the Gold team coach in the exhibition.
