The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery team recently competed at the Mike Davis Memorial Tournament at Cardinal High School.
The Mid-Prairie high school team finished fourth of four teams with their score of 2,949. The Comets won their home tournament with a 3,221 team score. The Golden Hawks were led by Koby Karnes with his score of 274, including 12 tens. That placed him seventh of 43 competing high school boys. Kaylee Shirkey had the top girls score for the Hawks, firing a 247 with four tens, that placed her 26th of 45 high school girls. Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Camden Miller 272, Zane Fisher 266, Zoe Fisher 244, Peyton Freeman 238, Paytin Swartzentruber and Braydon Younge 236, Christopher Burnham 234, Payton Peck 229, Milo Sieren 227, Blake Peck 218, and Alexa Huber 201.
The middle school Hawks were fifth of six competing schools with their score of 2,820. Cardinal won the middle school section of the tournament with a 3,189 team score. Mid-Prairie was led by Elijah Statler with his score of 270 including nine, tens, placing him third of 65 competing middle school boys. Top girls finish came from Morgyn Nafziger with a 259 including seven, tens. She finished 15th of 61 middle school girls. Other Mid-Prairie scores included Parker Jennings 251, Lael Seale 250, Hunter Robertson 247, Landon Kuenster and Tate Bombei 241, Tommy Miller 232, Isabelle Frederick 229, Nickolas Kelley 220, Kyla Karnes 217, Caiden Sellers 213, Blake Malichky 212, Averi Janecek 208, Johnathon Pickard 201, Cecil Kelley 200, Tessa Bombei 199, Jack Sorrell 188, Benjamin Lothamer 187 and Kennah Robertson 180.
