The Washington girls and boys golf teams broke out the brooms Thursday in a pair of triangulars in Columbus Junction, sweeping the Wildcats and Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks.

The Demon girls fired a team score 172, led by meet medalist Kiki Bruner with a 39. Other Washington scores included medalist runner-up Makenna Conrad at 43, Josie Tanner and Anna Nacos 45, Kaylin Long 49 and Alecia Goff 52.

Mid-Prairie was second with a 242 team score. Alexa Huber and Gabi Robertson led the way with a pair of 59s. Other scores for the Hawks included Madelyn Bender 61, Madi Davidson 63, Claire Zirkelbach 65, Elliot Debler 67 and Madison Witthoft 77.

The Columbus girls shot a team score 299. Top Wildcat was Jobie Lekwa with her 56. Other scores for Columbus included Vanessa Ayala 70, Attie Hand 86 and Faith Barnhart 87.

The Washington boys made it a Demon team sweep with their championship score of 182, led by medalist runner-up Roman Roth and his 39. Other scores for the Demons included Teague Mayer 43, Isaac Vetter and Luke Beenblosssom with 50s, Grant Sobaski 52 and John Prohaska 53.

Mid-Prairie was second with their team score of 197. They were led by meet medalist Dominic McCain and his 38. Other Golden Hawk scores included Warren Scarff 50, Aiden Bush 54, Drew Schlabaugh 55, Ben Mattes 57 and Collin Miller 63.

Columbus finished third with a 240. Top ‘Cat was Tucker Bright with a 44. Other scores for Columbus included Robert Coil 48, Trenton Hoback 73, Cole Storm 75 and Grant Watson 83.
